We hope you have all had a restful break, and welcome back!
We started this week with a letter from Eku the Elephant inviting us to spend a week in the Serengeti. We learnt about the different animals that we could find in the Serengeti, such as dung beetles, rhinos, lions and armadillos. We found out what animals were considered to be the Big Five and learnt that people live in the Serengeti as well. We learnt facts about the fastest, most dangerous and funniest animals in the Serengeti.
In our explore learning time, we used these different animals to complete different challenges, such as jungle I Spy and a safari obstacle course outside. Inside we made our own zebras and elephants.
In phonics we recapped what a rhyming word is and played some rhyming games to see if we could match up the rhymes. In maths we looked at the sequence of numbers ready for next week when we look at one more and one less.
On Friday we learnt about St David’s Day and how it is celebrated. For our own celebration, we coloured in the welsh flag and then taped it to a straw so we could wave it.
