Nursery Latest News – Autumn 2 Week 1

We started this week off with our fantastic Spooky Day. The children came in their spook-tacular outfits and we started by going to the hall to find out about our spooky class book We’re Going On a Ghost Hunt. We came back, listened to the story and found 5 ghosts hiding in the book. We took part in some Halloween activities such as scooping out the pumpkins, making potions in the water tray and using different fruit and vegetables to print pumpkins and ghosts.

The rest of the week we focused on bonfire night. We spoke about the reason for bonfire night and came up with some great rules on how to keep safe. We made our own bonfire art using different materials, made our own firework picture using toilet roll and spoke about the noises we could hear when watching fireworks. The best part of our week was going to the fire pit for the very first time. We listened carefully to the safety rules before we toasted our marshmallows on the fire pit to make our s’mores.
