This week we have been focusing on rhyming in phonics, and we started by reading some different books that included rhyming words such as Room on the Broom and 10 Little Monsters. In maths we continued looking at patterns. We looked at using our bodies to make a repeating pattern and uses movements such as clap, stamp, wave, jump, stand and sit. We then looked at repeating patterns that had a mistake and used our knowledge of repeating patterns to try and fix them. By calling out the pattern we were able to fix all of the repeating patterns.
We also looked more closley at our Growing Minds value, and what is means to have a growing mind. We listening to a story called The Dot by Peter Reynolds, which showed us how we shouldn’t give up and that we need to keep trying even if it becomes tricky. We then thought of different things that we could do, and things that we couldn’t do yet.
