We started this week finding out about the animals we had voted for last week; Lemming and Snowy Owl. Using non-fiction sources we researched what they look like, where they live, what they eat and an interesting fact. To remember all this new information, we produced a fact file on each of them. Towards the end of the week we started to compare the two animals and found that both can be white and they live in the same region. We found that they eat different things and they look different with snowy owls having wings and lemmings having brown colouring.
In maths we looked at the number 2 and the different ways it could we represented. We played some games to help us recognise these different representations. In phon
ics we played Sound Lotto where we had to listen very carefully to the sound, recognise the sound and then see if we had it on our board.
In PE we used our knowledge of the polar animals to move around like they would in the cold. We huddled like a penguin, slithered like a seal, flew like a snowy owl and crawled like a polar bear.
