We started the week looking at our topic of animals that live in the hottest parts of the world and learnt about the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. We met Antonio the Anteater who informed us all about the two types of rainforests and what animals we might find there. Antonio then helped us understand the importance of trees and what we need them for. On Tuesday we looked at Pancake Day and understood that it is a time that Christians celebrate getting ready for Easter.
On Wednesday we celebrated World Book Day and had some fantastic costumes. Over the week we enjoyed some lovely stories from our Secret Readers and listened to our 5 different masked readers and discussed who we think they might be.
In maths we have moved on to looking at length and height, introducing words such as tall, taller and tallest, short, shorter and shortest, long, longer and longest. In phonics we continued to look at how our voices can make different sounds and when we put different sounds together we can make a word.
