Nursery Latest News – Spring 2 Week 3

In our final week of jungle animals, we have been exploring animal habitats, animals and their young, and moving around like different jungle animals. In our whole group session, we read the story Walking Through the Jungle, using the different places that the little girl visited to decide where each animal would live. We matched up the animal to their young, looking at similarities and differences to find out the correct answer and in our PE lesson we moved around like jungle animals, focusing on different ways to move around the hall.

In maths we have been learning how to notice which group has more or less. We have been using ourselves to find out if there are more girls or boys in the class and also which group has more or less, the dragonflies or minnows. We noticed that the group that has more will always be the bigger group. In phonics we have been playing Bertha the Bus, looking at initial sounds and noticing what initial sound we have in our name.
