In our final week of jungle animals, we chose an animal who lives in a hot place to learn more about. In minnows we chose a toucan, and dragonflies chose a sloth. We both found out lots of different facts about both animals, such as a sloth turns green over time because they move slowly, and a toucan cannot actually fly, it hops around from tree to tree. We also matched up animals to their young, looking at similarities and differences to find out the correct answer.
In PE we continued to use our bodies to move in different ways, this week by rolling. We looked at three different rolls – egg roll, pencil roll and roll on back. In maths we looked at the balance scales using numicon and we began to understand that the bigger number has more in quantity. We then moved on to look at if something is full or empty and how we know it is full or empty. In phonics we continued to look at what noises our voices can make.
