Nursery Latest News Spring Week 1

We welcomed back our Nursery cohort and began the week looking back at our holidays and sharing with our friends all the wonderful activities we did. It was so lovely to see everyone doing different activities over the festive break.

We introduced our new topic My World Your World by looking at the coldest parts of the world, the Arctic and Antarctic. We brainstormed some animals we thought might like to live there such as penguins, seals, whales, and polar bears. We listened to our focus story Say Hello to the Snowy animals, learning some new animals that live in those cold places.

In maths we started to look at the number 3, and different ways it can be made e.g. 1 and 1 and 1, 2 and 1, 3 and 0. In PE we looked at the skill of throwing and catching. We learnt how to throw underarm, and practised holding our hands out ready to catch a ball. In phonics we revisited some different environmental sounds in our listening game, listening out for sounds such as traffic, people talking, a phone ringing, a dog barking, and a tap running.
