This week we have been looking at our new story Eat Your People. At the start of the week we listened to the story then wrote a list of the vegetables we know, challenging ourselves to listen for the initial sounds in each word. We discussed where our fruit and vegetables come from before they reach the shops, and found out the journey that carrots take before they reach our plate.
In maths we have been continuing to find out about different 3D shapes including cuboid, cube and sphere. We have been identifying features such as sides, edges, faces and corners. At the end of the week we looked at which 3D shape would be best to roll down a ramp. We decided that it would be a sphere as it has a curved face.
In phonics we continued our oral blending and segmenting and our new phoneme songs and actions. We helped Jack climb the beanstalk by listening to the CVC word that was segmented by blending it back together and finding the correct picture.
