This week we have been looking at our new story Eat Your People. At the start of the week we listened to the story then wrote a list of the vegetables we know, challenging ourselves to listen for the initial sounds in each word. We discussed where our fruit and vegetables come from before they reach the shops, and found out the journey that carrots take before they reach our plate. During explore learning time, we taste tested some of these vegetables and used words such as crunchy, soft, juicy and hard to describe them.
n maths we have been talking about and reminding ourselves what 2D shapes are and their names. We have been looking at different pictures that are made out of 2D shapes and did really well to spot the different 2D shapes.
In phonics for the past few weeks we have started to look at different phonemes (sounds). We have learnt songs and actions to help us remember the sounds and have been grouping pictures that begin with those certain sounds.
