This week the children have been showing us their independent skills as they come into school by themselves, organise their belongings in the cloakroom and completing flexi finger activities in their colour teams. We have been impressed with how well they have been eating their lunch in the dining hall using their knives and forks. We began the week with our phase 2 phonics, learning the phonemes s, a, t, p and particularly enjoyed the Jolly Phonics songs and actions.
The children talked about their similarities and differences and enjoyed exploring their facial features creating their self-portraits.
In maths, we have been learning to subitise and use positional language to describe dot patterns. The children ended the week with their first visit to the library and are looking forward to sharing their books with their families at home.
