Reception Latest News – Autumn 1 Week 6

We began this week with a walk through our woodland in the rain; we saw trees, badger setts, a den and even a dragon. We spoke about what we could hear and smell. Later in the week we returned to the woodland where we described things we could touch such as the bumpy tree and soggy leaves.

In PE this week we continued to develop our independent dressing skills and explored a variety of tuck and star shapes in a seated and standing position. The children worked hard to follow a sequence of body shape instructions then worked with a partner to play a mirror game where they copied each other’s shapes. We ended the week with a visit to the pond and surrounding areas where we talked about pond life, plants and birds.
