We began the week learning all about the Hindu celebration of Diwali. The children enjoyed discovering how families celebrate this special festival, and we had lots of fun creating our own individual and group Rangoli patterns using a variety of arts and crafts materials.
A big highlight of the week was sharing our performance of ‘Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down’ with the rest of the school. The children sang beautifully, and we loved listening to the songs shared by other year groups too!
In Maths, we’ve been learning to identify 2D shapes by name and describe their properties. We took our learning outdoors on an environmental shape walk, spotting shapes all around the school – from round clocks and square windows to rectangular doors.
During PE, we began exploring low apparatus, practicing our star and tuck shapes with growing confidence and control.
We rounded off the week with some ‘Spooktastic’ fun! The children looked fantastic in their fancy dress and enjoyed a day full of creepy crafts and spooky subitising.
