It has been great welcoming the children back into school ready to start the new term! This week in English we began learning our new text, Stanley’s Stick. The children came up with some great ideas on what his stick could be used for. They then used their phonics to write some sentences about Stanley’s stick.
In maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We explored finding 3D shapes in the classroom and began to learn the mathematical language of faces, edges and vertices.
In geography the children have been learning about the countries that make up the United Kingdom. They enjoyed looking at atlases and beginning to identify the flags for these countries. During science, the children explored naming body parts and enjoyed recording this in range of ways.
