WB 23.02.26
Welcome back!
We began the week by talking about the role of an artist and exploring the works of the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. The children learnt that he was Dutch, he painted self-portraits, still life and landscapes and one of his famous paintings was called ‘The Starry Night’. We explored the painting in detail and discussed what we could see. The children then enjoyed creating their own versions of the painting by using a variety of different sized paintbrushes, different colour shades and swirling brush strokes.
Children have also been learning about the Chinese New Year and Ramadan. Children made their very own paper lanterns and explored the significance of the colour red in the Chinese culture. In P.E, children used some low apparatus to explore making shapes (straight, straddle, tuck and star) using their bodies.
At the end of the week the children visited the pond. We were very excited to see frogs and frogspawn!
