Reception Latest News Spring 2 Week 3

This week we began preparing for our growing project. We collected pots for planting, cleared the shelves and planting beds in the polytunnel and talked about what we would like to plant.

We started the week by reading Oliver’s Fruit Salad, we spoke about our favourite fruits and explored healthy eating options. In our groups we wrote about our favourite fruit using adjectives such as juicy and crunchy. In art we made observational drawings of a fruit bowl and we also went to the kitchen where we learnt how to use knives safely to chop fruit for our fruit salad.

In PE this week we practised our shapes, rotations and sequences on the large apparatus, this was quite a challenge on the climbing wall. As the end of the week approached, we all started feeling very excited about our visit to the Bekonscot model village next week.
