Reception Latest News- Summer 1- Week 2

This week the children have continued to enjoy learning the story of ‘Eat your people’. At the beginning of the week, we created class story maps to help us learn the text before changing parts of it. We had some great ideas such as ‘Eat your bugs’ ‘Eat your fish’ and ‘Eat your porridge’. Throughout the week the children then wrote their own versions of the story using their phonic knowledge. In the creative area this week the children have used their joining skills to make junk modelling monsters. They thought carefully about what they wanted to create and used a range of mixed media to produce a monster.

The children have enjoyed observing the caterpillars this week. They have definitely grown bigger! We are looking forward to the next stage.

We all enjoyed our first PE lesson outdoors this week where we continued to practice our ball skills. The children enjoyed dribbling their balls around the playground and in and out of cones. They remembered they had to keep their ball close to their hands in order to control it.
