We have also begun to take part in a range of transition activities. We visited our New Year 1 classrooms, where we were able to see our new learning environments with a buddy from the current class. Our class teachers have popped into our classroom during planning time and we have enjoyed listening to a story read by our new class TA.
On Wednesday, we welcomed the librarians from Croxley library who came to introduce the summer reading challenge. We hope you will all take part in this fun summer activity to support your child’s love of books and reading. We look forward to hearing all about certificates the children will receive when they complete this challenge.
In PE we revisited the skills we needed to ride balance bikes successfully – helmet on, look straight ahead and smile. Once we had practised these skills, we negotiated an obstacle course ensuring the amount of time we lifted our feet of the floor to balance increased each time we went around the course. We were excited to see some of our friends move to pedal bikes without stabilisers.
