In English, we have been enjoying the story The Wild Woods. We went outside to explore our own woodland area and used our senses to investigate what we could see, hear, smell and feel. We collected some interesting objects and brought them back to the classroom. We then used our collections to write lists and captions.
In Maths, we have been revisiting subitising and developing our understanding of numbers. The children have been practising recognising amounts without counting and representing numbers in lots of different ways using practical resources and drawings.
In Music, we have been learning about beat. We explored our Music Garden and enjoyed using the different instruments to tap out the beat of some familiar nursery rhymes. We had lots of fun listening carefully and trying to keep a steady beat!
In Geography, we have started learning about human and physical features. We talked about features that are naturally found in our environment and those that have been made or changed by people.
In Computing, we talked about what technology means and thought about all the different types of technology we see and use around us every day. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas and spotting technology in familiar places.
