We started our week by celebrating Odd Sock’s Day as part of Anti-Bullying Week. We discussed what bullying is and how to seek help from those around us. This year’s campaign is all about ‘Power for Good.’ The children looked at pictures that portray this and discussed kind actions. Each day we discussed this ethos and created a heart of kindness as a way to reflect.
On Tuesday the children learnt about Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy. We all went out to the big playground at 11:00am to show our respect and stand for a minute’s silence. The children were great listeners. Later in the day, the children enjoyed writing about Remembrance Day and why it is important. They created their own poppies using cutting and joining skills. Some children painted poppies too.
During the week, the children planned a new innovated story based on ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. They orally told their stories aloud and then wrote a small section of it.
