This week in English we began learning our new text called Stanley’s Stick. The children came up with some great ideas on what his stick could be used for. They then used their phonics to write some sentences about Stanley’s stick. Some children created their own boats using straws, just like Stanley’s!
In maths, we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We explored finding 3D shapes in the classroom and began to learn the mathematical language of faces, edges and vertices.
During discovery learning outside, the children made observations of the ice and snow. They enjoyed finding ways to melt the ice and discussing its properties.
