This week the children listened to the story, The Wild Girl and learnt a shortened version of it. During our English lessons, the children also created a snowy environment using various materials and thoroughly enjoyed working collaboratively with their peers. During our maths learning, the children explored measures using length and mass. With the falling of temperatures, it has been lovely to discover ice in our outdoor area. The children explored the ice, discussed how it felt and suggested ideas of how to get objects out of the ice.
This week we were also lucky to have our new mental health nurse visit the Year 1 classes to revisit the Zones of Regulation. Ask your children how they are feeling and get them to tell you which zone they are in.
