This week the children have been learning how to solve word problems in maths. They learnt how to identify the key information, which allowed them to create a cherry model. In PE the children have continued to develop their bike skills, working on balance. In music, the children had an opportunity to use the claves and egg shakers to tap out a simple rhythm to a spring song. The children planted their own seeds in science which they really enjoyed. We look forward to watching their seeds grow!
The highlight of our week was a visit from a local author called Alice Hemming. We were very lucky to listen to two of her stories and ask her questions about being an author. Year 1 also participated in a workshop led by Alice and created some imaginative flowers with magical powers.
