The children have settled back well after half term and everyone is looking forward to new learning! We started our week off by writing postcards to our friends, all about our half term fun. The children are becoming confident writers and remembered to use capital letters for names and places. We also started reading the new text Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion. The children wrote some sentences about the story using ‘because’, wrote their own letters and wrote about some of the animals on Little Reds journey. In maths the children have been looking at grouping and have been working practically to solve word problems. In history, the children have started to learn all about the history of trains. They really enjoyed this and lots of discussions were had.
In PE the children have started practising for sports day. They have really enjoyed Archery and bike riding and are learning to be team players as they cheer their friends on.
