Welcome back!
This week we have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming our children to Year 2. It was lovely getting to know them by hearing what they got up to in the holidays and discussing their families. To help the children settle into Year 2 we discussed how changes can make us feel and what their hopes and goals are for this new year.
In art, we created self-portraits in our sketchbooks by carefully observing our faces in a mirror. We also learned some facts about our class bird to make a fact file!
We have been introduced to our new topic ‘As the leaves turn…’; we visited our school woodland area and discussed facts we already know about the woods (for example, animals that live there and plants that grow). We also came up with questions that we want to answer as the topic continues.
