This week we used all of our prior English learning to plan and write a new scene for our focus text ‘The Frog and The Stranger’. We then published our short stories for the Malvern Way community to read. We also became illustrators by creating a painting to depict our story using watercolours.
In maths, we investigated different ways to represent 2-digit numbers including cherry models and dienes. Using our knowledge of place value we also looked at a variety of representations and explored any missing numbers.
We worked collaboratively in art to create a piece of nature art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. We noticed that his art often incorporated patterns, symmetry and curves. We tired to incorporate these elements in our nature art.
On Thursday, we had the opportunity to develop our leadership skills in preparation for becoming Play Buddies. Play Buddies support the younger children at Malvern Way to play group games at lunch time. In this session, we learnt some simple group games and how to adapt them to the group who is playing.
