This week, in English we used the past tense and expanded noun phrases to describe sounds and places. We discovered that not all verbs can be sent into the past using the suffix –ed. These words are called irregular verbs e.g. grow becomes grew.
In maths, we continued to use the ‘think 10’ method for addition and subtraction. At the end of the week, we practised selecting the most efficient strategy depending on the numbers in the calculation.
Because this week was anti-bullying week, we spent some time discussing bullying, what it means and how we can prevent it. We then created our Helping Hands for this year carefully thinking about who we would go to if we had a problem.
This week we also walked to the local war memorial to read our remembrance poems. When we were there, we were able to spot the poppy wreath from Malvern Way!
