In Maths, we continued our learning on money by answering word problems. We had to use a mixture of addition and subtraction calculations and understand the concept of receiving change.
In English, we started a new topic based on Dragon Post by Emma Yarlett. This topic focuses on letter writing so we spent time identifying the features of a letter e.g. the address of the recipient and sign off phrases. Using our new knowledge, we wrote our own postcards.
We prepared to make our DT decorations by creating templates. We looked at our original designs and carefully drew their simple shape on sugar paper. We then took our time to cut out what we had drawn so that our template would produce the right shape on the fabric.
This week, we spent a day outside roasting marshmallows and using our map reading skills in orienteering. Whilst roasting our marshmallows, we made sure we were safe by kneeling on one knee around the fire pit and counting to 30 before we ate them.
