This week, we started a new topic, Inside the Castle Walls. We thought carefully about what we already knew about castles and wrote these down on post-it notes. We then wrote questions about things we would like to learn about castles. Hopefully, by the end of the term, all our questions will have been answered.
In maths, we continued to explore measurement. We thought about the similarities and differences between number lines and measurement scales. To understand scales more deeply, we made our own device for measuring capacity using a water bottle, a cu,p and some water.
In English, we wrote a formal letter to an animal expert asking for some advice. We used our learning from before the Christmas break to construct the letter, making sure to include important features.
We also started our dragon eye topic in art. We practiced different sketching techniques and then used these to draw a dragon eye using pencil.
