In maths, we continued our learning on time. We focused on telling the time to quarter-past, half-past and quarter-to. On Friday, we made our own clocks so we could practice moving the hour and minute hands ourselves.
In music, we resumed our learning of the song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on our ocarinas. We were reminded of how to hold our instruments and the importance of fully covering the holes to produce the correct note. By the end of the session, we were able to play the complete song as a class.
We used our newly learnt knowledge of castle jobs to create job adverts in history. We had to think about what each job involved and what skills the people would need to be able to carry them out.
This week, we started a new topic in science of materials. First, we discussed what we already know about materials as a class. We looked at materials such as metal, plastic, glass, stone and wood. Then we looked at examples of objects that are made out of each material. Finally, we went on a hunt around school to find these materials. We discovered that there is a lot of plastic and metal around our school but not much stone.
