Year 2 Latest News – Summer 2 Week 4

This week, the children had a busy and exciting week of learning across the curriculum.

In English, we began the week by planning and writing imaginative instructions for how to wash a chosen animal. The children carefully considered the steps involved and then wrote their instructions, ensuring they included bossy verbs and descriptive adjectives to make their writing clear and engaging. Towards the end of the week, we learned about diagrams and created our own to accompany our instructions.

In Maths, we consolidated our understanding of patterns and time through a range of practical activities and problem-solving tasks.

During our Geography lessons, we compared the United Kingdom and Australia, exploring similarities and differences between the two countries. The children enjoyed discussing aspects such as location, climate, wildlife and landmarks.

In Computing, we completed our music unit by using all the skills we have learned to create a piece of music that represented an animal. The children showed great creativity in selecting sounds and rhythms to reflect their chosen animals.
