Reception Latest News – Summer 1 Week 4

We began our week by re-visiting our class story maps of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ where we then innovated the story together. The children came up with some fantastic ideas such as: Bob and the Beanstalk and we even had King Charles and the Beanstalk! The children then had a go at choosing their own character and writing a part of the story using their phonic knowledge.

On Wednesday, we visited the school pond; the children noticed lots of algae on top of the water, but as we moved it to the side, we were very excited to see lots of tadpoles. The children then made some observational drawings of the pond and wrote some sentences about what they saw. Some children chose to make their own life cycles using plasticine and mixed media.
