Reception News-Spring 2-WC

This week, we were very excited to go on our school trip to Bekonscot Model Village. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of travelling on a coach or minibus and exploring the model village, where they saw a variety of people, buildings and vehicles from the past.

The highlight of the trip was definitely the train ride around the village , there were lots of smiles, waves and excitement as the children travelled through the miniature world! They also had great fun playing in the park and enjoyed having lunch together outdoors.

Later in the day, the children attended a workshop where they discovered how Bekonscot has evolved over time. They were fascinated to learn that it first opened in 1927, created by a local man named Roland Callingham, whose passion for model trains inspired its creation. The children also explored transport from the past and compared it to transport today. We all agreed that modern transport is much more comfortable!

We ended the week with our Breakfast Book Look. We hope you enjoyed sharing your child’s learning and taking part in the fun activities together.
