With spring on its way, we have been looking out for signs of spring. In our nursery garden we have started to see flowers blooming and even a bumble bee came to see us. We learnt about how flowers grow and what they need to grow. On Tuesday we had went up to the hall to listen about Alice Hemming’s book The Leaf Thief.
In phonics we have been doing lots of work on initial sounds, recognising them in our name and if we have the same sound as anyone else. We have also been looking at syllables and clapping out how many we have in our name. In maths we have been looking at ordering different sequences such as the daily timetable, how we get ready for bed and how we brush our teeth.
We ended the week making our own sequence…making jam sandwiches. Using sequential language, such as first, then, next, as a class we wrote instructions on how to make a jam sandwich.
